PROJECT DESCRIPTION: A residence to house the foreign Guatemalan Consular in New York City.
GOAL: Design a home for the Guatemalan Consular and her family on the Upper East Side of New York.
CONCEPT: Weaving is an integral part of tradition in Guatemala - while it is bright, and purposeful for warmth and illustrates story or significance, it also is a celebrated passed down a technique since Mayan times in 1500. This space is curated towards the idea of woven design and cultural elements; By weaving the user through the space with twists, turns, design and materiality this home will reflect Guatemalan heritage, traditions and lifestyle.
