600 WASHINGTON STREET, NEW YORK, NY, 10014
PROJECT DESCRIPTION: French-Moroccan couple Margaux and Omar are moving to New York City from Europe to be closer to their paraplegic daughter who just began attending college at NYU. The couple purchased two adjacent condominium apartments and want to combine these spaces to create a home that provides a sense of identity and integration of both cultures
GOAL: Design a home that harmonizes the French and Moroccan cultures and traditions in the hectic New York City environment, while providing full accessibility for their handicapped daughter who often visits from her college dorm
CONCEPT: This residence integrates slices of France and Morocco to embrace Margaux and Omar’s individuality - an oasis away from New York City life. This is a home that embraces the concept of cultural identity in a foreign country.
